THANK YOU to the MBL Team that supported the 2017 Martin Luther King Junior Day of Service event! Working with thousands of other volunteers MBL contributed to creating care packages, blankets, dolls, and meals for several local and regional non-profit organizations affiliated with the Day of Service event. It was amazing to see the spirit and the energy supporting a day of service. Another great success!
Congrats to Alexandria Rugby (http://www.alexandriarugby.org/) for another great
year! MBL is so proud to be a sponsor for all great things kids and sports.
MBL had a great time on Saturday supporting the Mutt Love Rescue event! Thanks to all who participated and to the Mutt Love organization for continuing this effort.
MBL had a great time supporting the AARP Cares Meal Pack Challenge! Please click here to learn more about the AARP Foundation and their efforts to support the senior citizens of our community.
MBL is so proud to announce that our effort to support Team Rubicon was a HUGE success. As a veteran-owned small business, our hearts are behind Team Rubicon- an organization that provides veterans with opportunities to serve others in the wake of a disaster.
To support relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey, MBL collected $1,342.00! To support relief efforts for Hurricane Irma, MBL collected $1,315.00! We went above and beyond our goals! Even better than that, is news that Bryan Laird's matching challenge was met with a generous donation of $300 by Michael Audet to each campaign. And the good news just keeps on coming! PBX announced they would match donations to the new ceiling of $2 million dollars, ensuring our donated dollars were matched even more than we thought.
Thank you to everyone who donated to these campaigns and who participates in other MBL community service events.
Even during a blizzard MBL stays hard at work! Why feel burdened by a snow storm when you can relish in it! Who’s says you can’t keep that childhood thrill alive? Our MBL’ers used the recent snow blizzard as an opportunity to do just that, because after all… who’s afraid of a little snow?
IN THE COMMUNITY
2017 will be MBL’s seventh year supporting this event! It is important to
remember those individuals who have served our country and as we
approach the Holiday season, participating in WAA provides an opportunity
to show our gratitude to those who have sacrificed for our freedoms and to
their loved ones still with us.
This year there are two ways that all MBL staff, family, and friends can participate in this event:
1. Join MBL at Arlington Cemetery on Saturday, December 16th, to volunteer by laying wreaths
on the grave markers in the Cemetery.
2. Sponsor a wreath to be used during the event. MBL has a goal of sponsoring 100 wreaths
this year, and MBL has already committed to sponsoring 50 wreathes to start!
DETAILS FOR VOLUNTEERING ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16
No pre-registration needed, but please email Jeffrey Oppong and Hank Roser to let us know you will join us at Arlington Cemetery by Friday, December 1. We will meet at Starbucks in Pentagon City, located at 1101 S Joyce St, Arlington, VA 22202. From there the South Gate Entrance to Arlington Cemetery is an .8-mile walk. Parking is located at the Pentagon City Mall parking garage, 1301 S Joyce St, Arlington, VA 22202, or along the streets in the area for a metered fee.
With age comes wisdom and MBL was excited to share in that wisdom with the amazing seniors of the Sunrise Senior Living community! Thanks to all who participated.
On March 30, MBL joined the Women in Technology forum for their annual job fair. We had a fantastic time meeting great candidates and seeing the proof that women are making their mark in technology!
